After being thouroughly impressed by "Harry Potter: Film Wizardry", I was very much looking forward to this larger, somewhat similarly styled book. I was not dissapointed."Harry Potter Page to Screen: The Complete Filmmaking Journey" is a massive, in-depth look at the character, costume and set design of every Harry Potter film. This 531 page book weighs about 7 pounds; it would not be considered light reading by anyone (except perhaps Hermione). The pages contain pictures, but also LOADS of information about the initial development of the films, memorable moments between the actors, areas in the script where the director decided to change direction, and special insights from J.K. Rowling. The pictures are plentiful, and provide a deep look into the Harry Potter world; from Dobby's initial sketches, the decorative style of the Slug Club, character costume styles, even a close up look at the gaudy kitten plates on Umbridge's office wall! Additionally, tricks and techniques of filmmaking (some of which have been kept secret for many years) are revealed in detail (such as the secrets behind filming Hagrid's scenes in the movies). This book is a real treat, and would make an excellent gift for any Harry Potter fan. It is the most detailed book of Harry Potter movie information I have ever come across, and I am happy to have it in my collection.

It's massive, full of vibrant, exciting photos and wonderful information that gives you insight to the series that no behind-the-scenes featurette ever could. It makes a beautiful addition to any book case and it's great to have out for people to look at even if they aren't a fan.Definitely a good purchase.

most comprehensive book i have seen. gives full deatils and breakdowns of what each actor and director was thinking of and the original concept drawings. must have for any serious fans!
