2.0 out of 5 stars No, Nov 14 2010
By Christy Leigh Stewart "Good Mourning Sunshine" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Haunting of Brier Rose (Paperback)
It's a Silhouette book so I can't blame it for being predictable but the characters should at least be likeable and they aren't. Not in any of their lives.

The book begins with the need that you already feel empathy for the couple and then when it jumps to present day you have to over look how whiny and annoying they both are.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Gothic Well-Written Romance, July 29 2009
By Beth Dora Barany "book lover" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Haunting of Brier Rose (Paperback)
I read a lot of romances, among other genres, and I know that when I pick a Patricia Simpson novel I will not be disappointed. She always crafts well-told tales. Simpson created a wonderfully gothic tale in The Haunting of Brier Rose that weaves a Puritan love tale gone wrong with the plight of Rose Quennel and Taylor Wolfe, two modern souls from two different backgrounds. Rose is raised and sheltered by her loving guardians at the Brierwood santuary. She's an orphan, her family's past a blank to her. A gifted artist in fabric painting, Rose is content with quiet life. Taylor Wolfe is an adventurous man cut down by tragedy and a secret in his past. When these two find each other in a mansion in the Pacific Northwest, their lives begin to intertwine in ways they do not understand. Well-written, poetic at times, this book should be a keeper on any avid reader's shelf.

5.0 out of 5 stars A spectacular description of conquering over ourselves., Sep 2 1998

This review is from: The Haunting of Brier Rose (Paperback)
I read 'The Haunting of Briar Rose' over two years ago and remember it as being my favorite Silhouette ever. The detail kept me glued to the book. I recommend it for any avid Silhouette reader, although it can be enjoyed by everyone--each and every friend I have agrees.
