Harlequin American Romance #975 6/03

Shy Rebecca Hartwell finds it nearly impossible to talk to men, especially a man like Thomas Emerson, the handsome doctor she can't stop thinking about. As her biological clock starts ticking a little too loudly, however, she knows it's time to act. Thomas thinks a new job in Atlanta will be the one thing to make him happy and that Rebecca can help him. Together maybe they can find what they are truly searching for. Rita Herron's characters will capture your heart in HAVE BOUQUET, NEED BOYFRIEND (4.5), a truly engaging story of love and change.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Romance, Jun 17 2003

This review is from: Have Bouquet, Need Boyfriend (Mass Market Paperback)
Rebecca Hartwell lost her mother when she was twelve. Not knowing how to deal with her loss, Rebecca crawled into her shell and has been terribly shy ever since. Rebecca has developed a crush on one of the local doctors, Thomas Emerson, who is a hunk. Whenever Rebecca is around Thomas, she turns shyer to the point of stuttering and is very accident-prone. To save herself from embarrassment, Rebecca does everything she can to avoid Thomas. Initially, Thomas' only interest in Rebecca is to get her to introduce him to her father so he can advance his career. While every other woman in town is throwing herself at him, Thomas finds himself fascinated by Rebecca because she's not. With the assistance of Rebecca's matchmaking cousins and sister, Rebecca begins to come out of her shell and she's like a butterfly coming out of a cocoon.

The support that Rebecca gets from her sister and cousins is heartwarming. Rita Herron did a good job of developing this close knit family.

5.0 out of 5 stars A delightful read! Very highly recommended, Jun 5 2003

Mousy Rebecca Hartwell learned to disappear into the woodwork years ago when her mother died. Her dazzling younger sister Suzanne always seems to thrive on their father's attention and to capture the hearts of Rebecca's would-be boyfriends. It would be easy to resent her sister if Suzanne had not responsibly handled every would-be suitor who dumped her older sister with a rejection.

Even the town's hottest doctor has dated Suzanna, so Rebecca has little hope of garnering his attention. That is, except when her clumsy ineptness embarrasses her. Even catching the Heartwell bridal bouquet does not promise that Rebecca will get her heart's desire-a husband and a baby. So she takes matters into her own hands, inventing the Baby Plan. She intends to persuade Thomas to father a child for her!

Author Rita Herron has a marvelous talent for bringing the small town of Sugar Hill, Georgia alive with quirky characters and genuine hometown familiarity. For the curious, Sugar Hill does really exist, and many readers may be packing their bags to relocate before this wonderfully entertaining series is compete! An entrancing romance of transition and transformation, HAVE BOUQUET, NEED BOYFRIEND comes very highly recommended.
