They don't make them like this anymore. The video quality is very good, just a all the previous seasons. I am looking forward to purchasing Season 6. I would definitely recommend it for those of you who have a nostalgic flare for older western series.

An excellent series, obviously remastered as the video quality is surperb. I have all five seasons and waiting for the sixth and final season to be released. It and gunsmoke where the first adult westerns to be televised during the 50's and 60's. If you are into westerns this is a must buy.

When good was good and the bad guys knew it! March 22 2011

I grew up with the OLD westerns, They all were great but "Have Gun Will Travel" was the best. Not only did Paladin know how to use his gun but only as a last resort. He would try to reason or talk his way out of a fight before resorting to gun play. As in all of the OLD westerns, The good won over evil, bullies were put in their place and the women was held in high regard!!
I believe that season 5 has some of the best story lines and acting of all the Have Gun Will Travel episodes (I have all 5 seasons)I also believe that Richard Boone was one of the best actors that Hollywood ever produced!!

Now when my grandson comes over for the weekends, We pop some popcorn and I pull out the Have Gun Will Travel DVDs, then we sit back and watch Paladin do his thing!

Have Gun Will Travel has weathered the years since it was first introduced. Good quality acting and stories. Anxiously awaiting the release of Season 6 and hope, like others, that they release the entire season at one time.

Among the best of the genre Sept. 1 2011

I often lament that the westerns of my childhood are gone. But when I do see one on TV, I realize there wasn't much there. "Have Gun" was different: a series with story lines for grown-ups -- not in terms of today's "adult" content, but in deft handling of a storyline that covered a lot of ground in 30 minutes. There's good meeting evil as in most westerns, but "Have Gun" often deals with the great ambiguities in between. Paladin is a hero (albeit a hired gun) who uses his wits first, and his gunfighting skill as a last resort. And there's nothing maudlin or syrupy about his heroism.
Quality: Most of the episodes are sharp and clear -- only a few aren't. Some of the earliest episodes have a raw quality of direction I equate with early western movies; I found those few fun to watch because of their novelty. But most were spot-on drama set in the post-Civil War west. I can't recommend this series highly enough!
