This book is no nonsense clear and practical. What makes it brilliant is that it gives the parents great ideas that are actually effective. It also calls the parent to a higher standard of parenting that does not include any bullying or yelling.

If you want to help out your kids and you..buy this book immediately!

This book is amazing. I have recommended it to many parents. It helped me figure out why I was so frustrated with my children. I saw how I was part of the problem; I wasn't following through with consequences. I have learned how to set boundaries, allow my child to experience the "reality" of their choices, and see the importance of keeping track of misbehavior. I started to write notes to myself so that I would remember to say "no" when they asked for something.I am now experiencing a respecful relationship with my children.

I love Dr Leman's straightforward, pull no punches way of writing.

And finally, a book that actually has real-life examples and suggestions of what to do. So many books are so abstract, but this one has example after example - which is something I needed.

Excellent book.

I was very excited to get this book in my order. Unfortunately when I received the book I was disappointed to see how thin it was. It is meant to be an accompaniment guide to a DVD (this information was not posted so I didn't know) and the book did not come with the DVD. Even with all of that I was still hopeful and sat down last night to read it. I quickly learned that this is a religious based book and includes scripture passages and prayers. This is information that is very important to know which wasn't shared. I was not looking for religious suggestions and I am very displeased.
