5.0 out of 5 stars Another Winner from Suzanne!! Aug. 22 2012
Format:Paperback
When I opened this book, it was like letting some sunshine into my soul! The characters were the ones I had previously gotten to know VERY well in "The Search" and I just felt that I was getting back together with old friends. I was sooooo... happy to be with them again. Now , you may think that that sounds silly, but Suzanne makes her characters become part of you, your family, your world!! I had the biggest smile when meeting MK again!! She is one character you will never forget!! Sadie Lapp had been a favorite character in the last book, as well, so when this book starts off with her finding a baby, my heart was filled with love for this dear girl , who always does her best to please everyone. She loves this baby upon sight, with heart and soul. You feel the love she experiences, as well as the heartache as the community judges her wrongly and she suffers the pain of rejection from her formerly dear friends. The characters throughout the book are so well developed, that tears flow with heartache, and laughter comes with MK's adventures.

Suzanne has a learning experience in each of her new books. Last time, I found out so many facts about beekeeping. This time , I learned about the endangered penegrine falcons that are nesting on the Lapp farm. The author has done a great job of researching this subject. This is intertwined in a complicated plot involving the hopes and ambitions of three young people. We are constantly kept guessing what is going to happen next.

Love is in the air, but who is going to be Sadie's choice and how will she decide? Will she listen to the quiet voice of God and let His plan take over.
Where did this baby come from? Is it Sadie's, as the community believes??

5.0 out of 5 stars A fabulous addition to the series :) Aug. 17 2012

Well, once again Suzanne Woods Fisher is to blame for causing me to stay up way too late at night to finish one of her books!

As the clock ticked past midnight, I truly tried to walk away from Sadie's story but just had to reach the end. The Amish family at Stoney Ridge may very well be one of my favourite family of characters to come along in some time. I simply can't get enough of reading about their adventures and seeing their unique perspectives on life. Sadie is a wonderful character who I felt like cheering for as she grew to become comfortable in her own skin, and discovered that God uniquely gifted her and she's able to do more than she even dreamed of. The scene where she boldly helps an older Amish lady let go of her bitterness and discover anew the power of forgiveness was a powerful one indeed. And who ever thought she'd catch the attention of not one but two men interested in her? The resulting tension results in some hilarious scenes!

Fisher's writing continues to be filled with both humour and deep emotion, with smooth flowing words and plenty of action to keep the scenes moving. It is truly Amish fiction at its best, and I award this book 5 out of 5 stars. I can't wait for the final book in the series, The Lesson, featuring one of my favourite characters (M.K.), coming January 2013!!

When Sadie Lapp steps off the bus in Stoney Ridge after being in Ohio for the winter, she is faced with a decision - one that goes against her very essence. Yet it's the only way she can think of to protect a loved one. Schoolteacher Gideon Smucker has been crazy about Sadie since boyhood. But his response to her surprising decision undermines her own reputation - and his relationship with Sadie. College student Will Stoltz is spending the spring at the Lapp farm as a guard for a pair of nesting Peregrine Falcons - courtesy of the Lancaster County Game Warden. Will needs to get his life back on track, but his growing friendship with Sadie threatens his plans. The lives of these three individuals intertwine, and then unravel as unexpected twists create ripples through the town of Stoney Ridge...and through Sadie's heart. Once again, bestselling author Suzanna Woods Fisher intrigues and delights with a story that explores the bonds of friendship, family, and true love. Readers will enjoy every surprise in Sadie's story as they search for the truth hidden within these pages.

My Review:

Sadie Lap has been in Berlin, Ohio for the winter and returned home on a bright, warm, spring day to a driveway full of people, satellite dishes, and t.v. cameras and crews. Sadie is stunned beyond belief and being extremely shy is annoyed that she now realizes she has chosen the worst possible day in her life to "surprise" her family with her homecoming. Sadie hadn't told anyone she was returning home two weeks early. As she stood there in awe with suitcases in hand, she suddenly heard the loud voice of her twelve-year-old sister Mary Kate calling "Saaaddddiiiieeee!
