Great,

This review is from: Healing and Recovery (Paperback)
There is so much wisdom in this book. I highly recommend it. It is an easier read than some of his other work. It is great for people who are just becoming interested in David R. Hawkins work.

Vraiment pratico, pratique!,
This review is from: Healing and Recovery (Paperback)

Valuable book challenges conventional approaches to healing,

Much like his landmark title "Power versus Force," "Healing & Recovery is packed with valuable information that challenges conventional approaches to healing. Typically, medical treatment is based on treating bodily symptoms that are allegedly causing the illness or disease to be present. In Hawkins world, this is not the appropriate way to address the problems. Why not? Because whatever is found in or on the body that has led to a health issue is NOT the cause of the problem, but merely the "effect" of something held in consciousness (or, in mind, if you will). While this is not radical teaching in the world of mind-body medicine, Hawkins' discussion is packed with some very solid theory to support his views. As such, in my view it is a very practical book. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because it was repetitive in many areas, which derives from the fact that it was developed from a series of lectures he gave that all shared the same foundation (i.e., Hawkins' "Map of Consciousness"). Anyone interested in the subject of alternative healing would find value in this book. 38 of 38 people found the following review helpful

This book really is remarkable. NLP didn't work for me, neither did life coaching, counselling, affirmations or anything else that deals with the mind. Yoga didn't work either, but now I know why - it would if I knew the trick described in this book. The book has chapters such as Stress, Pain and Suffering, Dealing with a Major Crisis, Losing Weight; just to name a few. Another reviewer is correct, it is repetative but I came to realize that each topic can be read without the others so the same ground is covered in each section. Essentially the book describes where and how you experience your experiences and teaches the trick to enable the experience without negative effects. The Major Crisis chapter is an eye-opener, describing why we have these sorts of experiences to begin with; what the true message is. Once you understand this, all experience becomes nothing more than experience; neither good nor bad. I experienced emotional relief right away and the effects continue. 20 of 20 people found the following review helpful

Informative and Helpful,
By G. Miki Hayden - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Healing and Recovery (Paperback)
Anyone wanting to add to her understanding of energy/consciousness medicine will want to have this book. Dr. Hawkins is not only an M.D. psychiatrist but deeply enlightened. His view is not quite as radical as that of Mary Baker Eddy, who was a marvelous absolutist and reknowned healer, but Dr. Hawkins has some ideas that will prove practical for people and concepts that will add to any healer's knowledge base.
