4.0 out of 5 stars Book 5 Claremont, Alabama Sept. 12 2014
By A. Harris - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
This is book 5 of the Claremont, Alabama series. John Cutter's dream is to own and operate a dude ranch. He couldn't get funded by banks but he found an investor from Chicago named Dana Brooks of Brooks International. She is arriving in Claremont for 4 weeks to help get the operation up and running. As they spend time together at the ranch their feelings grow for one another and Dana becomes very attached to Claremont and the friends she has made that she has come to love dearly, including John's niece Abi. John has had a recent relationship go bad when she left him to move to the city. There are also some complications that arise with the plan for the dude ranch and John feels that it might be best for Dana to just go back to the city as he is afraid he won't be able to support her and he doesn't want to live off of Dana's wealth. Through prayer and faith in God, and with a little help from the horses, John just may find a way to save the dude ranch.

I haven't read the other books in this series but it was very easy to get to know these characters. This was a very quick read and the author did a great job of drawing me into the story as I couldn't wait to see how things would turn out for John & Dana as well as their plans for the dude ranch. I love the small town settings and how the community supports one another. I look forward to reading the prior books in this series and hopefully a sequel maybe involving Dana's brother.

I received a free copy of this book through GoodReads First Reads in exchange for an honest review. I want to thank the author for the lovely inscribed/autographed book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rugged cowboys, beautiful imagery...What's not to like? April 12 2013

A heart-warming happily-ever-after is what I'm looking for, but it's the journey that counts. Heart of a Rancher took me on a fun ride from Alabama to Chicago and introduced me to some wonderful characters. No wonder Dana felt so at home on the ranch.

John and Dana both have drive. John, hard worker, selfless, family man finally gets a real chance at his dream. In walks Dana, she helps financially support John's dude ranch idea, which is a long shot since they are in Northern Alabama. This is a good book, well written, and a joy to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet romance April 22 2015

Claremont, Alabama
Book 5

John Cutter has been through a lot already. He's watched both his parents die, raised his brother, helped his other brother get settled after his time in the military, get his brother married and settle...now it's his turn to do what he wants. His dream is to start a dude ranch, and rich businesswoman, Dana Brooks, is just the person to help him. But he's already had one city girlfriend and doesn't plan on going down that road again...

This is just a sweet story. It's a fast read, but is a nice, refreshing story about the poor cowboy and the rich businesswoman getting together to realize what's really important. They both find a spiritual awareness along the way, and maybe they'll be able to find each other.

Renee Andrews does such a wonderful job with her characters and the town of Claremont. I've enjoyed every one of her stories thus far and can't wait to read the next installment! I am very happy with the way this story ends and cannot wait to get Ryan's story (that's Dana's brother).
