Back in the game,

This review is from: Heart and Soul (Paperback)
Maeve Binchy has written some duds recently, especially Nights of Rain & Stars, but so far (I'm about 25% of the way through), Heart and Soul is as good as anything she's written, if not one of her best. Some characters appear from previous novels, such as Evening Class and Quentins, but you don't have to have read those novels to follow the story.

Heart and Soul,
By Sandi Norman (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Heart and Soul (Paperback)
If you like Maeve Binchy books, this is another enjoyable story about the people who put together and run a new heart clinic. The characters are warm and friendly and the story is sprinkled with appearances of many of our other favourite Maeve Binchey characters. These are all people that I could imagine knowing and wanting to know. It's also nice to find out how they have all fared over the years. If you want a comfortable leisurely read this is well worth the effort.

Classic Maeve Binchy,

This review is from: Heart and Soul (Paperback)
I can always count on Maeve Binchy for an enjoyable read! Heart and Soul tells the stories of a collection of interesting people who work in a Heart Clinic. There are some familiar characters from Scarlet Feather and Quintin's, but one needs not to have read either of these previous books for Heart and Soul to make sense. Binchy's characters are real and the storyline that is interwoven among them is, as always, brilliant. This was a wonderfully easy and entertaining read to close out 2008.
