Heartbreakers (2001) July 19 2004
Format:VHS Tape
Sigourney Weaver broke free from ALIEN image and left it behind her and has taken up on a new, sexy image for this hilarious comedy that is directed by David Mirkin.

ANGELA NORDINO (played by Sigourney Weaver) is a beautiful, intelligent woman. But she can never find the right man to be with. She has already been married twelve times, but they always seemed to end after 24 hours after she catches her them with another woman. Her divorce settlements helped cheer Angela up, since all the men she has married were, indeed, very wealthy. Angela has finally found the right one: DEAN CUMANNO (played by Ray Liotta), a wealthy businessman in the automobile business. They have dated for four months and their wedding day has finally arrived. After their reception, Dean and Max head upstairs and gear up for the consummation, but Angela seemed to have a little too much wine, for she has passed out on the bed. She wakes up the next morning, claiming to be sick to the stomach. Dean has to run to the office for an hour or two before they leave for their honeymoon. He arrives at the office and checks on a Mercedes, which is his wedding gift to Angela. His secretary, WENDY (played by Jennifer Love Hewitt), is writing up the necessary papers for the Mercedes. He signs the papers and Wendy goes on her way seems to have accidentally dropped the papers, which leads Dean into kissing Wendy. He stops himself, remembering that his married, but Wendy is sexy as hell, so how can he resist. Angela walks in and finds Dean with Wendy. Angela is now filing for her thirteenth divorce. Angela's divorce settlement is another great success, where she made $300,000 and the Mercedes. Angela drives up to a gas station and finds Wendy exiting a cab. She heads over to Angela and takes off, what seems to be, a wig. This whole thing was all planned out. 'Angela Nordino' is not her real name. Her real name is MAX CONNERS. 'WENDY' is not Dean's secretary's real name. Her real name is PAIGE CONNERS and she is Max's daughter. Paige is Max's beautiful daughter and the two work as mother-daughter con artists, where Max leads the men into a serious relationship and then leads them to the alter. Paige comes in as the men's secretary and seduces them the day after the wedding, causing Max to file for divorce and receive a hefty divorce settlement.

After this one, Paige wants to go off on her own, thinking Max has taught her everything she needs to know. Max finally agrees and the two go to New York to divide up their money. But when they get to New York, they meet GLORIA VOGAL (played by Ann Bancroft), who works for the IRS. Seems as though the IRS has taken all of Max and Paige's money and the two have only 90 days to pay. In the car, Max is handing Paige the money she needs to survive on her own, but Paige agrees to pull one more con in order to help pay off the IRS and go her own way. They relocate to Palm Beach, Florida. Not only do they pull off love-cons, they pull off every con possible. They pull up to a very posh hotel and make that their temporary address for their stay. Instead putting aside a reservation or renting a room on the spot, they pull the traditional flopper-diver. They are taken to a suite and told they are allowed to rent the suite for free during their stay as a compliment to Paige's supposed accident. As they search for their next target, Dean plans to find 'Angela' and try and get back together with her.

Paige and Max search for their next target. They find WILLIAM TENSY (played by Gene Hackman) who works for the Tensy Tobacco company and is worth $3,000,000,000 in divorce and Max is interested, despite the fact that he is 5x older than she. They decide to target William for their next score. During the early stages of this con, Paige meets JACK WITHROWE (played by Jason Lee), a bartender who, is worth $1.5 million in divorce. Paige tries to aim for Jack, but screws it up by falling in love with him. Max picks out another alias, this time, she is 'OLGA EVANOVA', a beautiful Russian woman. William immediately falls under Max's plan and begins falling in love with her. Max seems to have a new record. The first twelve times, it took her only three months to get the men to propose. For Dean, it took four months. But William is so in love with Max that it only took a her one month to get him to propose. She has already gotten Paige to go for the job as William's housekeeper, after he had to fire his old housekeeper, Ms. Madress, who was set up by Max and Paige, for robbing Max. By this time, Max has already found out that Paige is trying to pull a con on Jack, which she has no problem with, but has problem with her falling in love with Jack.

Max comes home from lunch with a friend and prepares to have William propose to her by printing up a fake departure letter, that states that 'Olga' has to return to Russia. William says he was going to propose, but is informed that if he proposes, then the letter means nothing. But William, who is never seen without a cigarette, coughs himself to death... literally. Will Max find another target? Will Paige go through with her love for Jack? Find out by watching this hilarious comedy as these two sex bots take over your TV set.
