I don't want to pour cold water on people's passion for Christ. But a lot of discernment and research is needed when reading this book.
Peter Xu who is associated with brother Yun is a founder of a heretical group in China called the born again movement. Where they used to emphasize the need for weeping and visions of Christ in order to be saved.
His son started a seminary in Philippine called Sinam School, but there has been reports of abuse and deceptive management.
Beware, and look into what the house church in China is really like yourselves. Lest you are taken away from God's word in the scriptures and seek visions and signs instead. For the one sign is already shown, the Son lifted on a cross.

Read this book a few years ago and bought it for someone who was interested in the Christian Faith. What better way to explain Christianity than through this book, which shows Brother Yun's remarkable faith through all sorts of trials and persecutions. The book is set in mainland China in the past thirty or so years giving the reader an amazing insight into contemporary Chinese life about which we had virtually no knowledge before China decided to open up to the West.
