If you're looking for a wonderful family film that ranks up there with adventures like "The Absent-Minded Professor," "Bedknobs and Broomsticks," and "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," then this is the movie for you! A genius architect (Tony Randall) builds an undersea home as a project for his millionaire boss (played by the definitive millionaire, Jim Backus). He volunteers his family to trial test his invention but his wife (Janet Leigh) is terrified of water and his teenaged children and their friends are busy trying to record their first album for a hip record producer (Roddy McDowall). Together they face all kinds of undersea troubles, but overcome them with song, courage, and more than a little help from their new aquatic friends. We can't recommend this movie enough, so buy it today to share with your family--you won't regret it! :)

Quality-wise, the picture and sound of this DVD is simply superb. The image is truly beautiful--crisp, clear, and colorful. Great job, Warner Brothers!

This was our very first amazon purchase, and will be the first of many thanks to the amazon gift cards that are now available for purchase in retail stores. (We'd waited so long for amazon to take this step and are so glad they did!) The DVD was speedily delivered and arrived in perfect condition.

Research Scientist Fred Miller (Tony Randall) invents the underwater house of the future. His boss T.R. Hollister (Jim Backus) thinks it was a waste of money. So to save his job and commit to secrecy Fred convinces his "typical" family to live there for 30 days. And we know what happens when a typical family gets stuck together for 30 days anywhere.

The film is a tad dated and you have to slog through hockey parts. We hear sixties bubblegum. There is an exceptional amount of slapstick fuller. However it is fun to see actors before they were fully formed and those that are not with us anymore.

A partial list of actors:
Tony Randall
Janet Leigh
Jim Backus
Ken Berry
Charlotte Rae
Richard Dreyfuss
Arnold Stang
Harvey Lembeck - Beach Party (1963) - Eric Von Zipper

One day we may see a revival of Fluffy (1965) with Tony Randall, and Shirley Jones.

I loved this movie as a kid. It's still entertaining with some catchy tunes (60's pop-type) - the cast is great, and overall the film is campy fun for the whole family. (Unfortunately, there are no extras on the DVD.)
