Fine Record - I wish to correct the Amazon.com review though,

The Amazon.com review of the record notes that Phil mentions the target of his lyrical ire by name -- Jill. It's a minor point, but facts is facts, brother. The woman he just divorced was Andrea. Jill was his new love. If you want to hear the songs about his breakup with Jill, you've gotta buy Phil's Both Sides CD.

High-end pop,

This review is from: Hello, I Must Be Going! (Audio CD)
One of Phil's best solo albums, and also one which established him as a major pop star--the hit cover of "You Can't Hurry Love" is actually one of the lesser moments. As most fans know, this album details in large part with Phil's divorce and subsequent attempts at new love. Brutally honest (i.e. "I Don't Care Anymore", "Do You Know, Do You Care?") as well as heartbreaking (i.e. the lovely "Don't Let Him Steal Your Heart Away), there are happier moments, such as the peppy "I Cannot Believe It's True" and the jazzy instrumental "The West End." "Thru These Walls" is interesting--you're almost right there in the room as Phil lives vicariously through his neighbor's love life. The cannon-like drum sound in "I Don't Care Anymore" is heard throughout the album, and there are enough progressive passages and approaches in the album's production to appeal to diehard Genesis fans. But the real difference in this LP and many of his more recent ones is the strength of songs--all are at least good, and several are standouts. And that certainly can't be said about his recent work. I'm glad the man is at peace with himself, but a happy Phil Collins more often than not equals mediocre music.

Absolute rubbish,

Very few artists have made abums this bad. The thing about Phil is he included covers on many of his albums as if he could not be inspired enough to write all his own songs and even did the covers poorly and focused on quantity or more then quality. If you want to hear a good artist focussing on the opposite get Security by Peter Gabriel released the same year as this absolute rubbish.
