No stranger to the realm of children's records, They Might Be Giants have seen success with their CD No! and the book and CD combo Bed, Bed, Bed. Their latest CD, Here Come The ABCs, offers up twenty-five alphabetically themed songs. However, as is their charming way, the two Johns (Flansburgh and Linnell), use the letters as merely the connective tissue, allowing them to pursuit intriguing flights of fancy that consider everything from the relative power of letters and sounds to animal hijinks. Just as they've always done, there are wistful ballads and high octane rockers. TMBG have always been a family-friendly band, and this disc works just fine for adult fans, who can rightfully consider this simply their newest release. --David Greenberger

'Here Come the ABCs' is a very good children's record/dvd. It is really well made and although it is made for pre-schoolers, it isn't annoying for a parent/adult.
The animations and videos on the dvd are very intersting too, even though the budget for them was clearly low.
It is obvioulsy made for a younger crowd than NO! was, but still, it's almost as good and entertaining for any TMBG fan.
I say definitely worth buying.

Cannot understand that it is talking about the ABC's. My toddler doesn't recognize them due to the music and singing.

I suppose these were alright, we tried to listen to them for a few weeks but haven't put them in again.

Is it wrong that I put this on when my son is nowhere in sight?

Brilliant music, fun, educational...& great for parents, too!

I bought Here come the ABC's after watching "Q U" on YouTube with my two year old. She loved the music so much that we started looking at other TMBG videos and that was it, we are hooked! She loves this album and joins in on the first track as soon as it comes on. Some of the songs like "Letter/Not a Letter", "Can you find it?" and "Letter Shapes" don't really make sense until you see the DVD but they are still fun to listen to. Like a previous review I too have been known to listen to this CD as well as "Here Comes Science" even when my daughter is not around. These CD's are fun for adults and children, a worthwile purchase.
