5.0 out of 5 stars Filled with tons of technical information for Beatles fans, April 13 2011
This book is a must for Beatles fans who not only love the music but appreciate the technical genius of the Beatles.

Every page is full of detailed information about this phenomenal band and the recording engineers who played such an important role in creating the best albums of all time.

There is also a personal side to this book describing the relationships between the Beatles themselves and the people who worked with them at Abbey Road.

4.0 out of 5 stars I'm glad so many Beatle song titles lend themselves to book titles., Sep 24 2006

GE's recollections are very interesting and fresh, as they come from a point of view that was greatly shielded from the madness thrust on the Beatles (and the madness created by the Beatles) throughout the 1960s. One of the more revealing aspects is GE's description of the "I Am The Walrus" recordings and how, coming hard upon their manager's death, the group was never seen to be so despondent and out-of-it. It is with this sympathetic and empathetic perspective that GE's rememberances are made unique. A nice little postscript about the recording of "Band on the Run" is also included.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Beatles Sound..., May 1 2006

As a Beatles fan and a recording artist i've waited for years to read this book. Geoff Emerick was inside the studio and he was the one who contributed so much to the Beatles sound post Revolver. It not too technical and he makes you feel how it was in the studio, recording The Beatles. If you like The Beatles and you're interested in the recording prosess, it is a MUST!!
