Book Description

Jan 22 1992
Willa Jansson has always thought of herself as a right-thinking left-wing lawyer. But when her radical San Francisco law firm closes after the murder of its chief rabble-rouser, she does the next worst thing and takes a job as a high-priced corporate attorney. Willa has misgivings almost immediately, as she realizes all is not calm behind the firm's stately oak doors. After all, she's been around danger before, and she, can smell murder in the air.

Sure enough, two partners are killed. Unfortunately, the popular misconception is that the storm is blowing in from her direction. Hassled now by the police, her parents, and office politics of the murdering kind, Willa is forced to play hardball with the big boys, before the third strike is called on her....

> Willa takes a job with the San Francisco office of a Wall
Street firm? Willa -- a banker's attorney? Willa can hardly
believe it herself, and her parents hardily disapprove. But
$90,000 a year, up from $25,000 at the radical law firm in
_A Radical Dparture_, is no joke. And, besides, Willa is
not nearly so sure of her parents' politics these days.

> So Willa is not only horrified but disappointed when the
office collapses after two of its partners are murdered. And
it's hemlock again! Is someone trying to frame Willa?
Indeed, even kill her?

> I read the first 3 books in this series one after another,
and really recommend that if you can manage it. But each
story stands alone, too, and Willa is as entertaining and
enjoyable a heroine as the many other female "dicks" of
today's mystery literature.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another romp through Willa's world Feb 15 2013

If only this review can stay attached to the book it's intended for. I've written others that were placed under the wrong title, requested a change and did not receive it. Alas. Hidden Agenda is very similar to the other Willa Jannsen books, and if you enjoyed the first two, you will like this one as well.
