Great book,
By Jerry "a sci-fi/fantasy lover" (Macon, GA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: High Druid of Shannara: Tanequil (Paperback)
This series is action packed and loving it. Any Shannara book is a good book and a must read for any lover of fantasy!**A book I would also recommend is The Unsuspecting Mage by Brian S. Pratt. This, the first installment of The Morcyth Saga is a great beginning for a new author. Battles, magic, gods, secret passages and intrigue, all the elements of a classic epic fantasy! Any fantasy reader will enjoy it. Also it didn't take 4-6 weeks to come as I had been worried about. Only about fifteen days. Still a wait but worth it!

Another "Good" Book,
By "jwwrc" (Calgary, AB) - See all my reviews
This review is from: High Druid of Shannara: Tanequil (Audio CD)
Another enjoyable read. Action from start to finish, while I would have generally given it a higher rating, I would probably wait until all books of the Trilogy are completed. I found I had to basically go back to the first book and by the time the next book comes out I will have re-read this one.

Mr. Brooks really sets up for an explosive finale...,
By Mir Rum (Toronto, Ontario) - See all my reviews
This review is from: High Druid of Shannara: Tanequil (Hardcover)
The story of the High Druid of Shannara continues and Terry Brooks reveals to us the real motives behind the disappearance of Grianne Ohmsford. The story flows very nicely as the tapestry of events leads to yet another cliffhanger, one that is sure to have an explosive resolution.Terry Brooks stays within his standard realm of storytelling, although his writing style seems to have taken on a darker and more mature nature. Tanequil is a much better sequel then Antrax is, with lots of action and emotion. However, the book does seem a little rushed and I think Mr. Brooks could have spent more time on character development and lengthened certain key parts of the book. If you liked the first book in the series, you will like Tanequil. Not Terry's very best work, but overall a well written story that will make you wish it wasn't a year you have to wait to find out how it will all end. 4/5
