Nearly as good as other Falcon hiking guides EXCEPT the book does not do a good enough job telling you which hikes are some of the state's finest. It's hard to tell which hikes are the pick-of-the-litter. Also, the book doesn't cover any hiking in Everglades National Park. Seems like an oversight to me.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice, but not really a guide to THE Florida Trail, Nov 25 2008

This review is from: Hiking Florida, 3rd: A Guide to Florida's Greatest Hiking Adventures (Paperback)
Day hikes are covered well here, but I was really hoping this guide would cover long multi-day hikes. There is one full map of Florida at the start with numbered dots representing trails- it's not very good. I really was hoping to see large sections of Florida with multiple trails. For instance, the 1,400-mile linear Florida Trail consists of the following segments: * Big Cypress * Seminole * Okeechobee * Ocean-to-Lake * Kissimmee * Eastern Corridor * Western Corridor * Ocala * North Florida * Suwannee * Big Bend * Apalachicola * Central Panhandle * Western Gate * Blackwater These trails are covered individually, but the book gives no idea that these trails relate, or how they are positioned in relation to eachother. This seems like a big oversight to me, especially given its subtitle "Florida's Greatest Hiking Adventures"
