Unfortunately, this DVD only confirms the beliefs of those who attribute Hilary Duff's great success to her image and appearance. The only way someone may genuinely enjoy this DVD is if they are interested in seeing Duff in person instead of just hearing her voice (but why would that be important to anyone?) It is difficult not to notice that this DVD lacks interesting subject matter, and that it is better off simply as a CD.
I do not intend to criticize Duff for her decent freshman DVD production, but the DVD lacks a certain quality simply because Duff is new on the market. Hardly any band makes a DVD their first time out of the gate, and those who do (such as Duff) discover that thier final product lacks the ambience and feel of classic Music DVDs. Take for instance, a DVD of the Re Hot Chili Peppers in 1991, when it appeared as though the band was on the verge of collapsing, making for an intriguing behind-the-seens view of the band. Hell Freezes Over is another classic DVD, and part of that is due to the energy put into its production. After promising that the band wouldn't play together until "Hell Freezes Over", when they regrouped to make this DVD, the final product had a tremendous energy that cannot be replicated, simply because of the story behind the creation of the DVD. Certainly, it is equally important that the band plays well, the visual presentation is satisfactory, etc., but there is a certain intangible that cannot be achieved so early in one's career.

I am a fan of Hilary's, but I really didn't think this DVD was worth the money -- not even the "measly" 10 bucks I paid for it. Most segments I've seen before: the music videos for "Why Not", "I Can't Wait" and "So Yesterday" ... there were some behind-the-scenes clips for the making of two of the three videos (one of which, if you have cable, was practically identical to "Making the Video" on MTV).
Then there was a section of her performing for the Sessions of AOL, which I found incredibly boring, as there was no audience and Hilary didn't have much of a presence while singing the selection.
Followed by that, there were some more interesting parts: behind-the-scenes of her recording the album (although most clips were similar to those aired on "E.T." and "Dateline"), then a short home-video/picture collage, which I found to be the most interesting part of the entire DVD. It lasted not more than seven or eight minutes, though.
As much of a fan of Hilary's as I am, I am sorely disappointed with this DVD -- she could've offered so much more!

This DVD is a great example of how Hilary gets by on her looks. Includes making and videos of "So Yesterday"/"Why Not", and a short version of the video "I Can't Wait". Includes home videos and photos of Hilary when she was younger, and less annoying. As far as Hilary in the studio, it includes performances of "Little Voice" and "So Yesterday" which are both lip synched, as anyone who has common sense could tell that. They also show bits of performances of some other songs on her album, also lip synched. So you see no live singing here. Just Hilary faking it.

Hialry Duff is brilliant, she truly is capitolizing on her popularity, the way the Olsen twins did in the late 90's, with the preteen crowd. Duff is a good influence on girls and is a classy young lady with many talents such as singing, acting, dancing, and modeling. She is a friendly and personable young gal, not to mention beautiful. I think many older teen girls who are jelous of her talent, popularity and beauty are levaing bad reviews, just out of jelousy. Don't listen to them, this dvd is great and shows the real Hilary who is beautiful on the inside and out!

If you ask me, they released this DVD at a bad time in Hilary's career. Soon after her fans paid money to get her videos on DVD, her music video "Come Clean" came out. Stupid or what? This should have been released at least after her next single, as kind of a memoir to all Hilary's work. The home videos are interesting, but they're too short. The rest is all from TV or movies. A lot of these shorts have played on MTV or Lizzie DVDS, so other than the home videos you won't find much else that you've never seen, provided you're a big fan.

Hilary Duff is amazing! She has so much talent and for someone of her age(16) to have done so much for her career, I think she's the ideal role model for anyone. This DVD emphasises this as no other does; it reflects the real Hilary so if your a fan of hers, you will not be disappointed. I learnt alot about her too from this DVD and was very impressed by the way she presented herself in front of the camera, proving that she is just a regular teen like the rest of us! Rock on Hialry Duff!
