This review is from: His Case, Her Baby (Mass Market Paperback)
Nope. Not good. Nada. Here's the gist of the plot. New mom Peyton, moves into Black Rock, KS and befriends another new arrival Shana. Things quickly unravel when Shana hits Peyton and runs off with baby Lily. In comes local Sheriff Tom (along w/ his impossibly handsome bevy of bachelor brothers)to find the missing baby. I am not ruining anything by stating that the baby is found unharmed but the mystery does deepen. Sounds interesting, doesn't it? Well, it goes downhill from there. The subsequent relationship that develops between Peyton and Sheriff Tom is unrealistic and dull. The mystery as to who is trying to hurt Peyton and her child is equally disappointing. Sorry, but the more I type, the less I care about the whole story.
I actually wanted to like the book. Honest. I had seen the author's name and thought, "Let's give it whirl." And what can I say, I'm a sucker for a man in uniform holding a baby. So I read the book and came to the conclusion that the story was weak. The characters were slim and frankly boring. Perhaps Ms. Cassidy has a better book out there but this is definitely not the one.
