He's music's version of Ernie Els, the great South African golfer. "The big easy" makes hitting a golf ball look like lawn bowling. Mr. Humperdinck sings in the same way. Effortless vocalization with a warm, naturally expressive voice. Great arrangements in the 60's English style,

Engelbert Humperdinck is without a doubt one of the best voices of the 20th century.Nobody sings a love song like he does.These oldies are definitely goodies and bring back a lot of lovely memories- romantic,The Last Waltz, wistful, The Way it Used to Be,a fine collection of songs that nobody does better than Engelbert!

This is Engelbert at his peak. I love his emotional singing, the arrangements and the songs. The sound quality is SUPERB, the sound mix can a bit annoying at times - wide STEREO seperation but I guess that was the thing to do back then. Granted, AFTER THE LOVIN is not on here but in my book it's really only a 4 star song.

If you get a chance to see Engelbert in concert, do so. He sounds great and does most of these songs in his shows. Now if he only had a full orchestra backing him as on these recordings......
