I've always been a history buff, and when I was growing up in Killingly in the 50s I used to spend hours on a hot summer day in the local public library reading their copy of the original edition of Larned's 2 volume history. This reissue in paperback makes these terrific volumes affordable. I read the library's other histories of the region, but I always considered Ellen Larned's to be the most comprehensive and well-written.
