Hitachi DH24PC3 7-Amp SDS Plus Rotary Hammer with Depth Gauge, Side Handle and Case

From the Manufacturer

The Hitachi DH24PC3 7-Amp SDS Plus Rotary Hammer offers 3-modes of operation (drilling only, hammering only and drilling plus hammering) to tackle a multitude of jobs. When using a cold chisel or spade bit, the DH24PC3's variable lock mechanism lets you choose between (36) different tool angles while in hammering only mode. The DH24PC3 also features a quick-set bit system that makes bit replacement a snap - simply push the bit into the retainer and you are ready to go. With an impressive impact energy of 2.5-feet per pound and a no-load RPM between 0-1,150, the DH24PC3 boasts one of the fastest drilling speeds available in its class. Other features include a soft pistol grip, 360-degree side handle and a lock-on speed button. The push button reverse switch easily backs out bits. At 5.3-pounds and 13.81-inches long, this is one of the lightest and most compact rotary hammers in its class. The Hitachi DH24PC3 7-Amp SDS Plus Rotary Hammer comes with a 1-year limited warranty. Wow fast holes! June 13 2013

What can I say, Wow, this thing does fast holes compaired to the Harbor Freight drill I had been using. I had a $60 SDS hammer drill from HF that I had been using for about 6 years, and it finally gave up the ghost. I purchased this drill because of the handle design and the features it had were about the same as the old drill and I was very comfortable with using it. I could not beleive how much faster this drill was poking a hole in the concrete than the last drill. For a hammer drill, I think this is fairly light weight, but the construction is very solid and feels like I will be getting a good long life out of it. I love the fact that to put a bit in, you don't need to pull the release collar back, you just insert the bit. So far, there is nothing to say bad about this drill, and I hope it continues to be as good as it has been. I love this drill!
