Was worried about all the differences in opinions in the reviews section. This is my first blower...boy was it ever fun to use. I used it on wet leaves and it took no effort whatsoever to move leaves around. My wife had raked the leaves couple weeks before and it took her 4 hrs. It took me a mere half hour to get everything in a pile...oh so very glad i got this blower.

This thing works great. Starts easy every time. Two pulls and it's running. It's very light and easy to use, although sometimes you need to use two hands on it but still easy to use. Mine works better than the one that is in the Youtube video that's for sure. I bought it mostly for clearing light snow falls and it sure works great for that. I usually do my entire yard including the driveway and I even do the two neighbours city walks and the cars and am usually done in 10 minutes or less. What took me so long to get one? Two thumbs up!

This Hitachi gas blower replaces a Toro electric which had worked flawlessly for years. Dragging a cord around though, was finally causing too much frustration and I decided that gas was the only way to go. We have lots of trees plus 8 huge maples on our property and are downwind from hundreds of others. By November, we're literally buried in leaves. This year I used the blower and my riding lawn mower (with mulcher) 4 times (about 3 to 4 hours on each occasion) to clean up our yard. We use the paper bags for sticks and plant trimmings only. All of the leaves are spread onto the lawn and mulched to a fine powder with the mower.

Since I have this exact unit at our home in Florida, deciding which blower to choose from Amazon was easy. Purchasing it for $15 less than what I paid for it from Amazon.com a year ago (and in CAD $) was a no brainer. Free 2 day delivery in Canada topped it off and I knew that I had a great deal here!. The unit must have been on a super sale since I paid $124.51 on November 14, 2014. It's now $169.00. Ouch!

This unit was shipped well packed and it's light as you're likely to get in a unit of this size and power. It assembles easily but you'll need to spray a bit of WD40 or similar lubricant on the black nozzles to get them to mate as they are really tight. Once together and fitted onto the motor, they're gonna stay put. Other than that, all you need is a gas/oil mix and you're ready to fire it up.

With a full tank, I set the choke, pressed the gas primer about 8 or 9 times and pulled the cord. It started on the 3rd try and that was it. Easy! The unit runs smoothly and the noise level is about the same as my electric blower but at different frequencies. Take my advice..........

Great value and started on 2nd pull. Used to blow fir needles and debris off roof, gutter guards and decks. Also got to use for some light (powdery) snow clearing on driveway. Only had it a couple of weeks, but first impressions are good. Casing is plastic, but engine is rated as commercial duty, which is why I bought this machine instead of many others...

Everything other users say about this blower is true. I am very impressed with it.
I start every time without even pumping the fuel with the bubble. One pull with choke "down", one in the middle and one more at the high position and it starts flawlessly every time. There is no fuel in the bubble at all. More quiet than the electric one I still have. Well balance and very strong blast of air. I don't even need to use it at full throttle. Switch hand sometimes if you want to use it over long period.
The color looks very good too.

I only gave it 4 stars because this is an initial review. But first impressions do count...

Cons: Let's get this out of the way first, because there is only one, and it shouldn't detract anyone at all from purchasing this piece of equipment. It's minor. The assembly of the black tube and nozzle is the only thing you need to put together. And it was frustrating! The tolerances are super tight. If you're off by even a millimeter the tube won't fit. And its hard to twist into place because the material is slippery. But once it's locked in place...

Pros: I have a neighbour whom has a 4 stroke leaf blower. But he watched me walk down my driveway, casually carrying my 2 stroke blower, and blowing .5 cm of snow easily without me even touching the throttle - the idle speed way way powerful enough. He came over and said 'Lemme try it out', I gave him the blower, he hit the throttle full power, and snow got blown over 7 feet away. He exclaimed 'This thing is more powerful than mine! I thought I had the best one!!' I had to fight to get it back from him...

Other reviews have said that the intake can suck onto your pant leg if you are right handed. Yes, it's true. No, it's not a problem. When I first hefted it without thinking I was holding it well away from my pant leg. I can see how it could happen though - if you were very fatigued and had to rest the machine against your leg. But this thing only weighs 8 lbs, which is really darn light. When the package first came, my wife received it at the door. She lifted the box and thought it was pretty light. She was surprised when I told her over the phone it was the leaf blower.

Other reviews have said the tube is not long enough.
