When I purchased this book I thought the entire story of the Hobbit would be contained within the graphic novel. I was very disappointed to find out that this is only book 1 of 3. Nowhere is it stated that there are 2 other books (that I could find). As far as the book itself, it is only about 45 pages. The artwork seems good, especially the dwarves, Gandalf, and the goblins. I didn't care for how Bilbo and Elrond look. I guess the Alan Lee illustrations and the LOTR movies biased me against Dixon's rendition. Still, it is illustrated nicely. Now I just need to get my hands on the other 2 parts.

A very fine graphic novel. I thought it would be okay for my son (nearly 5) to get into The Hobbit, but it's a little above him at the moment. A lot of text but the illustrations are dense and well done.
