My grandson is 3 1/2 and has been a big hockey fan since he could walk. Now he is in play school and this book is great entertainment and a wonderful aid for understanding the significance of numbers in a fun way. He counts to 13 on his own, and the book goes to the number 15. I highly recommend it for fans in this age group.

Little Hockey Fans Jan. 7 2009

This sturdy board book is colorful and fun especially for a 2 year-old boy in my family daycare who is obsessed with hockey right now. We keep it in a special place in our cozy book corner for him. Another 4-year old who is a hockey team drop-out at the moment is rebuilding his interest in playing and this book is a great help and encouragement. I gave them their own copy for Christmas and it has a place in the 2 year-old's crib at home.

Yup, it works for hockey and numbers. Betting it is written by a Canadian though (not a problem, just an interesting side comment). You'll have to buy it to find out why.
Daughter Loves This Book!! Dec 13 2013
By mysecretgirl - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Board book
We checked this book out from the library for our daughter, who was 18 months old at the time. She fell in love with it. We have since checked it out about 15 times, and finally decided just to get our own copy. She is now 2 and a half, and still loves it. She loves counting the different hockey-related items and learning some basics about the sport. Our daughter is half-Canadian and half-American and lives in the US, so this exposes her to some of her Canadian hockey heritage. She can name all of the equipment in the book and loves the word "Zamboni." The book is colorful, sturdy, and whimsical. Love it!!!

This book was a huge mistake and not what I thought it was. This book is good to teach young children numbers but that is it.
