Book Description

Oct. 23 2007
Only a very small percentage of aspiring professional hockey players ever make it to the NHL, but for those who do, the rewards are enormous. In Hockey’s Young Guns, twenty-five of hockey’s most prominent young stars disclose their winning formulas and detail how they climbed the ladder from youth leagues to the Big Time. The Hockey News magazine — the number one hockey magazine in North America — chronicles the rise of Sidney Crosby, Alexander Ovechkin and Jordan Staal, among others, and gets the current crop of whiz kids to share tips, advice and drills for future generations of hopefuls.

Our Canadian Olympic Hero, Sidney Crosby appears in this great book as one of Hockey's "Young Guns". The book profiles 25 young players who had made it to the big leagues and their stories of grit and glory. It is an interesting read from a pre-olympic perspective and includes many other players who have made their marks upon history, but not quite to the same extent as Canada's greatest hockey hero, Sidney Crosby. How many of us will ever in our lifetimes forget the moment he made the historic goal that gave Canada Hockey Olympic Gold in overtime - the most exciting and tense game ever! If you are looking to read a bit more about our young stars look no further than this great book.
