Exactly what I was looking for!,
By Drei92000 (Montreal, CAN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Holiday Fireplace [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
High-quality image with fire-crackling sound only or with holiday or relaxing sound track. No complaints. It's on a pretty short loop though. You never see logs fall or burn down. It seems to vary though. At one point I counted the loop to be about 15 seconds, but at another time, I couldn't spot it looping at all. My older standard definition DVD of another make would have a guy's arm come into the shot every once in a while to adjust the logs. While I miss that guy somewhat, but I'll take the higher image quality over him any day!

Eternal fire,
This review is from: Holiday Fireplace [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
This fireplace is eternally burning as if the wood and the flame were in different universes. The blu-ray image is high quality but there are only 2 frames (brick mantle and flame). The background music (Holiday or "soothing") is syrupy - not the best choice for a lively sing-along. The sound of an eternally crackling fire is also available. A good choice if you like the same image all evening long.

A stunning work of post modernist minimalism,

This review is from: Holiday Fireplace [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
A stunning, albeit a rather loose, post-modern minimalist adaptation of the first book of the Divine Comedy directed, though uncredited, by Lars Von Trier. Mainly based around the beginning of Inferno -- Dante lost in the woods and then heavily focusing on the allegorical examination of the first 5 circles of Hell; that of the self indulgent sins.
