The bottle includes 8 servings of a concentrate. You mix 4 oz of this liquid with 4 oz of water and sip it for 4 hours, 4 times during the day (that's during 16 hours per day for those who are counting). Also, you're supposed to drink 8 glasses of water throughout the day. It tastes pretty good, like a tangy fruit juice, so that's not too bad, but having to overcome the desire to fulfill not just the hunger, but the habits one creates around eating and drinking that first day was brutally difficult (remember you can't eat or drink anything but this and water). The first day in particular was hard to overcome, but the second day was much more bearable. By the end, I felt much better and improved some of my food habits in the process.
I tried to follow instructions to the letter, but it was a bit difficult to sip each glass throughout each of the 4 hours during a busy day, so sometimes I would finish it quicker, and other times slower. I'd include the glasses of water in-between to try to control the hunger with it (the hunger still came, but I thought it helped). By the end of the first day, even with the almost unbearable desire for normal food, soft drinks, etc., I already felt better, like I had lost some of my gut. This was the reward that would push me through to the end. After two days, I had lost 8 pounds. I went from 197 to 189, and almost a week later, the weight is still off.
Pros: Easy to prepare. No complications. Tasty. 8 pound loss. Weight still off a week later.
Cons: Hunger. Hunger, and did I mention...Hunger. Requires heavy will power, especially during the first 24 hours.
Conclusion: If you want to lose a quick 8 pounds or want to reach a desired weight, the 48 Hour Miracle Diet definitely works, as long as you have the will power to surpass the first 24 hours of deep desire to indulge in food and previously established habits. It worked for me, so I definitely recommend it.
When I purchased it I was trying to make weight for my MEPs (Military Entrance Processing Station). My recruiter had me 2 inches taller than I was and because of that he told me my weight was fine. Then on Monday, two days before MEPs, we both find out that I was about 8lbs overweight. So he told me to work out hard over the next two days and recommend taking laxative.
I went to Walmart and got the laxative. I passed by the bottle and read it but wasn't too sure. So I just bought my stuff and then sat in my car for few minutes looking for reviews and decided to take a gamble.
I started sipping my first 8 ounces about 15 minutes to 9pm. I went to the gym and worked like crazy and burned an additional 1200 calories on top of the 1300 I burned earlier that day. I always try to burn AT LEAST 750 when I work out but knew I needed at least 1000 to make weight.
The next day (Tuesday) I go to the hotel. And for about 2-3 hours I burn an additional 740 before going to bed. I sipped throughout the day and during both workouts drinking mostly water. Then today Wednesday I went for processing. I felt a little dizzy so had an Atkins bar (my only cheat, a very healthy cheat) I didn't want to end up fainting there.
So I finally go to get my weight taken. On Monday I came up 171 lbs. I step on the scale and the woman says 161. She had me at 67" but I'm more like 66.5". Either way I was under the max weight for both heights so I was soo happy. I ended up losing 10 lbs in maybe 34-36 hours.
Monday 12am after my workout and then on Tuesday evening I felt a little dizzy. I also had a light headache nothing too bad. I also had a bit of stomach cramps on Tuesday morning but nothing too bad. I can say that I never felt hungry I didn't crave anything..I was surprisingly fine. I was also worried I would faint or be really exhausted during my workouts but I was fine.
For me it definitely worked and I would use it again if I was faced with the same situation. I also think it would work well for someone who is trying to jump start weight loss program AND is committed to eating healthy after they get off.
People complain about the price but I think its ok. I got it for about $14 @ walmart. If you think about it this is replacing about 3-4 meals a day for two days.
I would only recommend this to someone who is willing to workout and have enough will power to avoid food, alcohol, and smoking to achieve the best results possible.
would. BUT, I love how this stuff taste! I actually kept looking forward to drinking it. LOL. So even if I didn't lose the
amount of weight I would have liked, I can't say I'm unhappy I purchased it.
