About the Author
COREY MITCHELL, J.D., is a graduate from the University of Texas’s Radio-Television-Film Department, a law school graduate from St. Mary’s University School of Law, a former music business executive, and a true crime research assistant for best-selling author Dennis McDougal. His work has appeared in The Austin Chronicle, The Austin-American Statesman, and The San Antonio Express-News. He has written lyrics for Mercury Records. He has studied writing under author Dennis Etchison (The Death Artist) and screenwriter Brian Taggert (Poltergeist 3). In addition to working with McDougal, he also works with true crime author Dana Holliday (Zodiac of Death). His photography appeared in McDougal’s book, The Yosemite Murders. He has resided in Los Angeles for four years and currently serves as copyeditor for Local Concierge magazine.

The Best There Is,

Hollywood Death Scenes is incredible! There is more information, addresses, and photos in this book than any other so-called true crime tour guide. Ignore the person who said there is nothing new here...he could not be more wrong. Everything from serial killers, mass murders, celebrity murders, suicides, and graves to corrupt cops and more, more, more!!! Even if you have read every single book on the dark side of Los Angeles you will still find new material here. Corey Mitchell is a wonderful writer and I can't wait until he puts out another in the Death Scene series.

Hollywood Death Scenes is a fabulous book! It is very well researched. Anyone would be able to find people and places that interest them in this book. The "extras" at the end (graveyard information, Coroner's Gift Shop, etc.)were fascinating. The photographs were great. Corey Mitchell has an "easy to read" writing style. It is as if you are talking to him. I highly recommend this book.

Nice pictures, but nothing new here...,

I'm an old-time Hollywood death hag, so the stories in the book were interesting to me. The photos are excellent and the writing is nice, but unfortunately, other than some obscure L.A. area family murders, the celebrity death stories have all been done, and in an address format too. And "Hollywood Death Scenes" is a little too close to "Hollywood Death and Scandal Sites," which came out a year before this one. Surprising that the earlier book wasn't credited in the bibliography here.
