Buy this one for Oz, love it because of Caren Marsh-Doll,

Hollywood's Child: Dancing Through Oz is one of thosebooks that you just can't put down. Aside from being a lovely portrait of a starlet in the golden age of films it is one of a courage, optimism, determination, feminism, and forever remaining a lady. In short, Caren Marsh-Doll is one of the few that it can be said "they don't make 'em like that anymore"! In "Hollywood's Child" nothing is held back, the ups and downs, ins and outs. Yet somehow she is able to share it all with her readers without slinging mud! I bought this book because of the connection to Judy Garland and The Wizard of Oz. Many books have been written about both but few by people who were there. Caren knew and worked with Judy over several years before and after Oz. And, aside from a handful of Munchkins, she is the only person alive that worked on Oz that can share what it was like. Even though this information is priceless you will find yourself caring even more about this amazing woman and her life that most can only dream about! I have been an Oz collector since I was 12 years old I am now nearly 29. I can honestly say that out of my very large collection I truly treasure this book. It has a special place in my heart and in my collection. Any Oz fan, or anyone interested in dance, aviation, classic films, broadway, or strong women need to have this book. Although it is not in the book, Caren can add publisher to her long list of credits. After a dispute with her previous publisher over the quality of her autobiography she decided to self publish. Now in her 80s (even though she looks half that) she fills every order for her book, even signing each one when requested! If you would like a copy you can send $24.00 to Caren Marsh-Doll, P.O. Box 3233, Palm Springs, CA 92263. Just let her know how you would like it signed. Also, this book is not a paper back. It is a soft cover in a larger format and has literally dozens of photos!!!

This book is excellent! Beautifully written! Caren is a wonderful author.If you love the Golden Age of Hollywood and dancing then you will love this book! Caren takes you on a journey through all the ups and downs of being a dancer during the Golden Age of Hollywood. Not only do you read about it but its as if you are actually there going through it with her all the setbacks and victories and all the emotions are captured in this book. And if you are a Judy Garland fan there is a section in this book where Caren talks about what it was like to be a stand-in for the legendary Judy Garland. This book is a wonderful addition to the classic movie fan, dancer, or just anyone who loves a great book that you can pick up and just start reading. Caren captures her readers by the expression and passion that she portrays in this wonderful biography and story of her life and experiences. Don't miss out on this one. I highly reccomend this book! This book is great. Excellent reading material about her life and experience at MGM and various movie studios. Easy to follow and enjoyable. I highly reccomend this book. Not only is it beautifully written but Caren takes you there with her. You experience all her setbacks and victories! There is also a section where she talks about being a stand-in for the legendary Judy Garland. If you love dancing and the Golden Age of Hollywood you will love this book! Caren is an incredible author and captures all of her experiences with passion, zeal and excitement one minute you will be laughing the next you will be crying. I have to say this book is defintly a find and will make an excellent addition to anyones collection! Thankyou Caren for a job well done!
