Most Authentic EnglishTranslation of the Holy Scriptures,
By Dr. Ram Munjal (Sojourner and a Pilgrim in USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Holy Bible (Paperback)
I am citing verses from the Law Of Moses, the Prophets, the Writings, The Gospels, and the Epistles to demonstrate as to why I base my faith only on this translation of the Holy Scriptures from the Ancient Eastern Text by Dr. George Lamsa. For comparison the verses from New International Version (NIV) are also cited. [1] GENESIS 2:20 It needs to be noted that the NIV translation borders on blasphemy. When Lord Eshoo was on the cross, He quoted this Psalm(Matthew 27:46). God was with Him on the cross otherwise He would not have been able to endure the torture of the cross from the hands of cruel and wicked Romans. Lord Eshoo before going to the cross had told his disciples that " For behold the hour is coming, and it has now come, when you will be dispersed, every man to his own country, and you will leave me alone; and yet I am never alone because the Father is with me (JOHN 16:32)." He would never contradict Himself little later. EPHESIANS 6:12

The "Lamsa Bible",a review.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Holy Bible (Paperback)
I bought the "Holy Bible from the ancient eastern text" from Amazon because I wanted to compare it to the KJV.There are a few small differences in the text.Nothing major. The Lamsa Bible is in more modern english;no thee, thine,or thou's.I found it to be accurate while comparing it with "the Scriptures"(Hebrew to English).Mr.Lamsa also translates the names of places to modern indentities. This is my preferred version of the Bible. If you are contemplating the purchase of this book consider also Mr. Lamsa's "Idioms in the Bible explained and a key to the original Gospels" in addition to his translation of the Bible.

Translation from the Language of Christ,
By A Customer
This review is from: Holy Bible (Paperback)
Ms. Abrante is wrong. Aramaic was the lingua franca of the Middle East region at the time, so that the Romans, Greeks, Jews and others all used this common language to communicate with each other. The majority of New Testament was indeed written in Aramaic before being translated into the Greek. Ask any biblical scholar (the Western World goes to the Greek texts because the Greeks made much of what they discovered palatable to the west. Much of the intellectual and philosophical achievements of Greece are actually Middle Eastern in origin-- after all, Mesopotamian writing and civilization came before the Greek variants.)
