"The Forgetful Bride" - DEBBIE MACOMBER

Caitlin had "married" Joseph Rockwell in a pretend ceremony when she was eight. But she wished Joe would stop bringing that up. At least in front of her boss -- the man she was in love with! No, Joe insisted, she was in love with him. And on Christmas Day he'd prove it.

"Christmas Angel" - SHANNON WAVERLY

They'd been friends, best friends, and then they'd been lovers... But Jon had left, never looking back, and Angela had never forgiven him. Or forgotten him. Well, Jon was back now. Just in time for Christmas.

"A Cowboy for Christmas" - ANNE MCALLISTER

A tough working cowboy knows better than to believe in Santa Claus -- or love and marriage. Still, Jess needed to be careful. Alison Richards had set her sights, and Jess's three orphaned nieces were helping her. Alison aimed to rope herself a cowboy. By Christmas!

5.0 out of 5 stars True love - finally!, Aug 7 2003
By Aletheia Tamewitz - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Home for Christmas (Paperback)
These are some of the few romances I've read where the feelings between the protagonists seem like true, lasting love rather than just infatuation. In "The Forgetful Bride" and "Christmas Angel" in particular, there are the kind of heroes I would like to see in more novels - men with wit and humor, warmth and kindness - not the cold, arrogant type of men one usually finds in romance novels. I've read some bad reviews of "Christmas Angel" because of this, so I must assume that many women like to read about aloof older men who always have the upper hand over the female protagonist, but in all of these stories the characters were truly on an equal footing, and the plots made it clear that they brought out the best qualities in each other.
