Love, love, love it!,

I have liked Collective Soul from day one but after seeing the Home DVD, I absolutely love them! Their great music combined with the Atlanta Youth Symphony Orchestra is amazing. The music reaches down to your soul. I find it hard to listen to the original recordings because they just don't have the umph. I bought the CD too so I can listen to it in my car.
The DVD is a great concert to put on the TV during a party. The audio + visual is a real crowd pleaser.

the symphonic rock collaboration rarely sounds right
Metallica and kiss both great bands yet there symphonic attempts just didn't sound right but with CS it sounds just right, as if there music lends itself to it in the first place the track "Compliment' is a real testament to that sounding actually far better then the original yet it also works with "heavy" and other more popular tracks, all sound natural and actually far more full then ever

Amazing Rock Band + Full Symphony Orchestra = Amazing Album,

What "Home" lacks in spontaneity, it more than makes up for in Hard Rocking and Bone Chillingly Emotional songs. This double disc album, which was released concurrently with a live DVD showcases one of North America's finest rock groups in a 90 minute performance with the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra. Consider the many chart topping hits by Collective Soul such as Heavy, December, The World I Know, and of course, Shine. Together with Director Jere Flint, they blended perfectly Collective Soul's sound with a 120-piece orchestra. Lead Vocalist, Ed Roland's voice has the power to bring s crowd to their feet and minutes later cause you're eyes to water up purely with the power of music. For anyone who has seen Collective Soul live in concert, they know that this album does not contain the same spontaneity that the band has while on tour, however, the symphony adds an element that makes this performance special. Every song was uniquely reworked to fit the orchestration, and with many of their songs already containing orchestration, the transition sounds natural, not forced. For any fan of Collective Soul, big or small, this is a must have album (along with the available DVD).
