I thought that for the price, it might be a piece of junk. When it came & I saw it, I still didn't think too much of it. Gathered up the family & we did a big raclette night. Guess what! It worked great & the family had a fun time! The cheese melted fast enough & not even one burned. We used raclette (from Trader Joe), swiss, provolone, muenster & gouda. Raclette is usually served with boiled potatoes which I kept warm in the center pot. (Will be good for fondue too!) The grill top, well yes, it's sort of flimsy, & I doubt the non-stick surface will last for years, so I'll just be extra careful with it. No warping noted. I precooked all my grill items. Just used the grill top to brown & reheat things: sausage slices, chicken & steak bites, veggies, etc. Too slow to really cook on it. Clean up was easy enough. Don't think I would risk using a dishwasher. You need an extension cord that can handle the 1600W power too! The item is bigger than expected, be sure you have space to store it. Can't wait to invite friends over. Lots of recipes & ideas for raclette meals on the internet.
