Embrace The Flats!,

I was shocked, surprised and flabbergasted by the negative reviews I see on the web, I thought that Disney's final 2-D film happens to be one of their best works yet; and also I love a good western film. The animation and backgrounds are pretty, it has a retro appeal to it like some of the other Disney Classics...from the 1950s that is. The film also has an excellent soundtrack with some of today's best Country artists like : k.d Lang,Bonnie Rait and Tim McGraw. The characters are very appealing too; my favorites being Buck, Lucky Jack and Grace. I was also shocked in finding out that this film will be the last 2-D film from Disney. I have always loved the classic 2-D films ever since I was little and I always will; I mean 3-D's great and all but it's not like fascinating and beautiful as 2-D. So I say those of you who love 2-D feature films like me, I say "EMBRACE THE FLATS, PEOPLE!" Overall I give this film two thumbs up.

This review is from: Home on the Range (DVD)
Well, traditionally-animated movies by Disney went out not with a bang, not with a wimper, but something along the lines of a giggle, and with Home on the Range, the once proud Walt Disney Studios enters the frightening world of burp-and-bathroom-humor kids' movies. The House That Mickey Built seemed to just copy themes from other films and make a new movie out of them: the basic premises (save the farm, would-be heroes) have been seen several times before. Humor goes to the dogs....er, cows, with crude humor (including a Disney limit-pushing quirk at udders). The animation, aside from the ocasionally gorgeous backgrounds, is pure lazy, and the cartoon cattle bear little resemblence to real livestock. In conclusion, Disney needs to take a hint from Pixar and get back to doing what it does best: making original and entertaining movies for the whole family.

traditional style animation from Disney (3.5/5),

This review is from: Home on the Range (DVD)
this animated movie is actually pretty entertaining.there's anabundance of action,a good villain, and a couple of very funny scenes.the movie is sort of a cartoon western, done in the traditional animation style.there is lots to keep the viewer entertained.kids should like it,and adults will probably enjoy it as well.the good thing about this movie is it has a good story, and is well paced.there are even some musical numbers,(of course this is not surprising, since most Disney movies do contain a musical element)for people who might like musicals."Home on the Range has something for everyone, although some of the action might be a bit intense for very young children.all in all, a very good effort from Disney. 3.5/5
