Book Description

"IT'S STILL TRUE."

That's the first thing James Tillerman says to his sister Dicey every morning. It's still true that their mother has abandoned the four Tillerman children somewhere in the middle of Connecticut. It's still true they have to find their way, somehow, to Great-aunt Cilla's house in Bridgeport, which may be their only hope of staying together as a family.

But when they get to Bridgeport, they learn that Great-aunt Cilla has died, and the home they find with her daughter, Eunice, isn't the permanent haven they've been searching for. So their journey continues to its unexpected conclusion -- and some surprising discoveries about their history, and their future.

4.0 out of 5 stars Homecoming, April 21 2005
By A Customer
This review is from: Homecoming (Mass Market Paperback)
Many of the people writing other reviews for this book, have shown that they lack intelligence. "IT was boring, so I don't like it" is not a sufficent or insightful review in any way. The middle of the book, where the Tillerman's walk around is essential to plot and character development. Without this section, the reader would not connect with the characters of the book. Also it wasn't boring, becasue the author added interesting people along the way to move the plot along. And, if the reader did not connect with the Tillerman's, then why would you care about the ending? Yet, since you can relate in some way with them, you want them to find a home and be happy. So even though I prefer fantasy over this type of genre, it is still and good piece of literature, hence the 4 out of 5.

This review is from: HOMECOMING (Mass Market Paperback)
I really enjoyed Homecoming by Cynthia Voit. I had to read the book for school and it turned out I liked it so much when I started reading it I stayed up all night wanting to know what happens next. It is a great book about four kids searching for shelter and love. It was sad and exciting at the same time. I applaud Cynthia Voit for her excellent writing skills on this book.
