4.0 out of 5 stars Homeschooling In Your Garden (Easy Homeschooling) is exactly what it's title says. May 4 2012
By Sheryl Hesseltine - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This little book is a compilation of ideas on how to incorporate gardening into your homeschooling. As compares with what I consider typical of homeschoolers, this book is extremely generous in portion and ideas. Don't let the title or its target audience fool you, however; This little book would be a powerful instrument in the hands of any family trying to "green" up their children. In todays world, I think it's a priority that we consider doing that as parents, and not count on it being done at school. They are typically busy with other things there. The suggestions in this book are each generally small steps you can take with any age child to improve your family's gardening skill, from seed sprouting all the way to entering your gardening trophy's in the county fair. Whatever works for you. And that's the point. Finding a starting idea that fits your family and making the move to action with your children. The book is a definite *win* in my opinion and the only reason it's 4 of 5 stars is because I reserve 5 stars for REAL LOVES! Passionate, deep, thought provoking books. Homeschooling In Your Garden (Easy Homeschooling)is worth its price in every way and I'm sure you'll see the benefits on your smiling children's faces!

2.0 out of 5 stars Ideas for Encouraging Kid's Interest, not much Integration in Homeschooling May 4 2012
By Crafty Mama - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book had TONS of tips for encouraging your child to LIKE helping in the garden. There were a few ideas on how to integrate Gardening into Homeschooling, but not as many as I thought there would be. If you LOVE gardening yourself, as I do, you will naturally teach your children the love of gardening as well. As I stated before, I was a little dissappointed there weren't more practical ideas in the area of homeschooling.

Wonderful reading!! Education began in the Garden, and we can continue to encourage the gathering of wisdom and knowledge in the garden using this book of wonderful ideas. I loved the idea of "rescuing" plants, and the sentiment shared. I completely recommend this gardening book.
