Solid, well-detailed technical manual., July 16 1998

This review is from: Clymer Honda Shadow 1100Cc 1985-1995/M440 (Paperback)
It's obvious that this book lives up to Clymer's claim of "Based on a complete tear-down" because the photos of just about every process are great. When they substitute line drawings or schematics for photos, they are of equally excellent quality. If you're marginally handy with mechanical stuff, this book can easily take you from beginner to intermediate. Clear, logically laid out instructions on how to do everything from tear down the transmission to wash the bike. The motorcyclist's equivalent of the Chilton's manuals that shade-tree auto mechanics use.

This review is from: Honda Shadow 1100cc V-Twin, 1985-1996: Service, Repair, Maintenance (Paperback)
Im a big fan of the DIY to save money, but im also not a mechanic. This book has good enough instructions to follow easily. You dont have to be a rocket scientist to fugure this stuff out, but a little common sense helps. The pictures are all in black and white so sometimes its hard to see the little details. I would certainly recomend this book to anybody with a 85-96 shadow. Clymer also has other books for almost every make and model, I have a repair manual for all of my vehicles and with these manuals I save hundreds of dollars rather than paying an hourly rate that could go up as high as $120 per hour that I know of. Have fun working on your bike, and hopefuly this book keeps you from breaking something.

The manual is easy to understand and the tables are great for a quick referance. All in all a good manual if you don't want to pay for repairs on your bike
