The size is good, and the idea is there, but even with the velcro loops around the top and bottom brakets, the mesh is a bit loose and causes the bottom shelve to almost become useless. The shelves should have some short of hard bottom on them, or at least a velcro connector at the top and bottom in the middle to help stabilize it.

This was a perfect solution - I use it on the horizontal - breathable, washable and allows protected easy access to my shoes

Great storage in a perfectly compact size. Aug. 1 2011

This shoe storage shelf is just what I needed for my entryway. I live in NYC, which means space is always at a premium. Instead of having my shoes pile up at the door, I set up this shoe cubby, and the entryway looks so much cleaner and more open than before.

It's easy to assemble and holds size 8 women shoes without any difficulty. I even have doubled up some of my flats and sandals so that two pairs fit into one cubbyhole. With heels or booties, only one pair fits into a cubbyhole.

The only drawback is that it's a little pricey. I saw a similar item on clearance for $14 at Bed, Bath & Beyond, but because the other item had X-frame construction and came only in colors, whereas this Honey-Can-Do organizer has framing on its borders (which seems sturdier) and is a neutral canvas color, I was willing to pay the money to get this product.

I note that I did some price comparison shopping for this exact item, and Amazon's pricing is the best that I found. Even on a discount "sample sales" website that had a housewares sale going at that time, the price on that other website was more than Amazon's (and there was an additional shipping charge there, too). Overall, I am happy with my purchase.

Very Useful Product Jan. 31 2012

This organizer is very sturdy with a steel frame. The canvas fabric is durable and fits tight on the frame. I am using it to store shoes on my closet shelf and have it laying down, as in a 2-shelf high and 5 cubby hole wide style. It actually will hold 2 pairs of shoes in each cubby if they are not chunky type shoes. It holds 20 pairs of shoes for me since I do not wear chunky shoes; just sandals, loafers, and heels 2 1/2" or lower. My shoe size is 7 1/2 and there are a few inches of space remaining in length in each cubby. The fabric is removeable for cleaning, too. The price is excellent!

Perfectly functional May 3 2011

I didn't see a review on this item but took a chance anyway. It's attractive and seems sturdy enough. It holds 10 pairs of size 8 women's shoes easily. I took away one star because the shelves were not re-enforced though the metal framing means it maintains its shape. Assembly was easy and it looks good in my closet. Overall great product.

Look elsewhere Dec 17 2012

Ordered two of these. Both boxes came open; cheap adhesive maybe? Had to return one due to being so damaged, it wouldn't assemble. The dimensions are off. It is wider than than the description states once assembled. The holes for the shoes are also very small. It's a struggle to fit a minimalist men's running sneaker in a hole. Ankle boots don't even come close to fitting. Not sure how they are advertising a high heel would fit in there. This was a waste of money. Look elsewhere for a better quality product with a more honest description.

Velcro Straps Not Good! Feb. 24 2014
By Laurie A Farrell - Published on

Putting this together was easy until I got to the Velcro. I could not get both sides to work...needs about 1 inch on each side. I fixed this problem by removing the Velcro on the unit and reattaching it right next to the seam and frame. This worked for me but turned into a project. Just add more fabric!!! That would cost about 20 cents in my opinion. Also, there was a tear in a seam which I had to fix too. I think it could use heavier fabric and more of it. I like the idea, not the product.
