What was an irrepressible rebel like Theresa doing playing the perfect young lady in the most censorious circles of society? What was she doing playing cards for ruinous stakes against the most skilled sharpers in London? What was she doing as guest of dishonor at one of the notorious weekend gatherings of the Earl of Rusland? And above all, what was she doing daring to fall in love with the daunting Duke of Ashford, famed for being as heartless as he was handsome?

Actually, all things considered, Theresa was doing amazingly well.....

By elm - Published on Amazon.com
Fun and spirited Miss Theresa Thaleman, 17, has lived a very sheltered life. She has had a few adventures by tagging along with her twin brothers and her dear cousin the Honorable George Bennett.

In one such adventure she meets with the Duke of Ashford when he shots one of her brothers. He is on his way to visit her neighbor, the Earl of Rusland to attend his notorious house party. The Duke of Ashford decides he has had enough of his mistress Lady Melanie Statten and drops her off at the Earl's county estate.

After this shooting incident, Miss Brown, Miss Thaleman's governess, has convinced her parents that a London season would be best thing for her. The serious Duke falls for Miss Thaleman but she now has to deal with Ashford's jealous mistress.
