"A critical first step for people who have trouble getting in touch with their anger and expressing it in direct and appropriate ways."
Virginia Williams, Ph.D., coauthor of Anger Kills and Lifeskills
Do you act out your anger in destructive or underhanded ways? Or do you suppress your anger and turn other people's abuse and criticism against yourself? Anger is a normal, healthy emotion. But if it's channeled in negative directions, anger can do real damage to you and your loved ones.
In this provocative, healing book, psychotherapist Beverly Engel explains why your personal anger style may be hurting your relationships, your career, and yourself. She then shows you step by step how to transform a negative anger style into a positive one. Once you've discovered how to express your anger in healthy ways, you'll find that anger can empower you, motivate you to make important changes, and help you gain a sense of control over your life.

Great book!,
By Christina (Morro Bay, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Honor Your Anger: How Transforming Your Anger Style Can Change Your Life (Hardcover)
I bought this book for my husband who has a problem controlling his anger but as I looked through it I realized that I had a problem with anger myself. I've been afraid of expressing my anger most of my life because I had a very explosive father. I didn't want to become like him and I was afraid of what I'd do if I ever let my anger out. Engel showed me how to get in touch with my anger and how to release it in safe ways. I feel so grateful for the sound advice in this book. It gave me permission to be angry and helped me to understand that I have a right to my anger.I've even been able to deal with my anger toward my abusive father. I recommend this book to anyone who has issues with anger.

By .Jay Sidman "Webseers" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Honor Your Anger: How Transforming Your Anger Style Can Change Your Life (Hardcover)
This book teaches that anger is OK if it is understood and expressed correctly. First know if your anger is justified. Then how not to act irrationally with long term damaging consequences. How to express you anger that is fitting to the situation, or not express your anger. And the book goes into the many diffrent types of anger. Written in a compelling easy to read style kept me riveted to this book. After reading this k I got insight and understanding about my own anger and others that has helped me to greatly. 5 stars for an underreviewed book

good look at understanding anger styles,
By Debra N. Chambers - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Honor Your Anger: How Transforming Your Anger Style Can Change Your Life (Hardcover)
A good example of understanding, rather than controlling your anger. I liked the typology of anger styles and descriptions. I like the promotion of healthy anger, rather than managing anger expression. I would of liked more data on repressed anger. A better read than any other on the shelf!
