About the Author

Tila Tequila (née Nguyen), is a model, entertainer, and singer who lives in West Hollywood, California. Nguyen was born in Singapore and raised in Houston, Texas.

I have been a fan of Tila's way before she was in magazines and TV so I am not a hater that she talks about in this book. I bought this book because I am a big fan of hers and I wanted to add it to my book collection. I liked the intro that's previewed in her blog; it was so her and it addressed all the people that just hate on her. I thought the book would be about more than just dealing with the hate (like maybe a look into this childhood she always talks about which was dark and crappy) but no, (apparently it will be her NEXT book) instead this book was like a really LONG blog. Talks about the haters, how she became famous, what boys and girls like in a relationship, how she just loves to do everything and not necessarily make it but as long as she had fun, and then more about dealing with the hate. Some of the book was inconsistent. She mentions she hates wearing flats and doesn't own a pair, you turn the page and she's saying she'd prefer to wear her chuck taylors and jeans. She says women should unite and not hate on each other, next page she says Rihanna is boring and Celine Dion looks like a nun. She also talks about how she starts all the trends, including being the inspiration for gay rights in California. I thought the book would have a little more substance. I wanted to know about her past, what makes her feel sad (she usually writes her feelings through a poem and I wanted to read more of them), how it felt to be shot down on TV, basically I wanted to see a side of her I haven't seen. Since I'm not a hater, I wanted to see a more private side of Tila cuz I already think she's cool and I know she isn't a hooker. But as a Scorpio, I guess she'll just keep things to herself that we may never hear of.

This book was just fun to read, I had some laughs, rolled my eyes at some things (not because it was dumb, but just SO "Tila"), and enjoyed the topics discussed. But if I weren't a fan and didn't want this as a coffee table book (because my friends hate her and I know they'd love to just open it and call her a stupid slut) I wouldn't have bought it and would've just read it at the store.
