Product Description

2009 debut from the latest musical adventure by Jack White (The White Stripes, The Raconteurs). The Dead Weather epitomizes the Alt-Rock ethic: do the music you love, do it yourself, and do it fast. The Dead Weather brings together lead singer Alison Mosshart (half of the London-based lo-fi Post-Punk duo The Kills), Queens Of The Stone Age guitarist Dean Fertita, The Raconteurs' bassist Jack Lawrence, and White on drums and vocals. White also produced Horehound, recorded in just three weeks earlier this year at his newly constructed Nashville studio. An exhilarating mix of punchy Blues singing from Mosshart and Garage Rock with arena ambitions, Horehound introduces the musical whirlwind that is The Dead Weather.

5.0 out of 5 stars Whatever Jack White Touches Turns To Gold... Sep 8 2009
By E. Hall
Format:Audio CD
I hope Jack White keeps up this pace, he is the reason I have faith in new music.

Like every album Jack White is a part of, it takes a couple of listens to get into it, but, once you do you're hooked.

5.0 out of 5 stars love it! Dec 1 2011
By Jane Skinner TOP 1000 REVIEWER
Format:Audio CD
Not sure why it took me two years to get around to buying this album, but better late than never. Love the heavy-duty trippy bluesy post-punk guitar and up-front drumming on this - Jack White drums just as good as he walks. Great album, especially for Jack White fans, his touch on this is sure and true. Alison Mosshart's sometimes chanted-sounding straining but very gutsy vocals fit this music perfectly. You just want to hear more!

5.0 out of 5 stars Punk meets blues April 24 2011
By Brian Ashe TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Audio CD
Wow, thought the White Stripes were gone. Not quite. Jack White is back, with Alison Mosshart (the Kills), and Dean Fertita (Queens of the Stone Age) in a bang-up blues band. The mix is electric. That raunchy guitar, right on percussion, and the broken voices -- this is amazing music. Check it out and enjoy.
