I am the guest services/front office manager for the Holiday Inn in Athens, Ga. I was interested when I purchased this book in obtaining information to increase our sales and develop our group and transient markets. I also hoped to in our customer service levels to meet to standards of an increasingly demanding market. This book gave me a tremendous amount of information that allowed me, not only to meet, but exceed my goals concerning market growth, an understanding of customer requirements in an increasing demanding market. The book was very well written and organized in a very easy to understand style, for someone with only limited knowledge of the terms used in the hotel industry. I am very pleased with my purchase of this material and would recommend this material to anyone in the hotel industry that desires success in the field.

As a real estate broker who deals specifically with hotels and motels, I find this to be a great book for my clients. Wether it be a 20 unit motel or a 120 unit hotel, this sales and marketing book is a great tool. I have presented this book to my clients during the initial phase, as we are looking at many different properties, to prepare them for what lies ahead and so that they can learn how to maximize the potential of their property to gain a wide customer base. I have also given the book to clients when we "close" the property so that they can learn different ways to maximize their income. Even when the clients have management experience this book can help with new ideas. I have received nothing but positive feedback from my clients on how this book has helped them and their success is my success!

This is a real practical book on hotel marketing. When I was an MSc student in UK, I read a lot of academical books and papers, but they were theoratical and short of giving concrete ideas. For a hotel manager, this book is very handy in planning a business plan and marketing objective. I do wish the author would issue a followup copy or write another one which delves into the issue still further.
