Good to flip through, but not exactly a go-to. The paint book is much better. But as far as I'm concerned, you never can have too many books.

In today's world where you can preview so many designer fabrics online, a printed source of fabrics is not really necessary. The concept is a fine one--the "Instant Room" from House Beautiful--so it does give you some ideas about suggested pairings of fabrics in specific spaces. I love design books and have gotten a few good ideas from it so I would not say it is a total waste, but it you are trying to limit or specify your design library, this one could be left off.
