One of my favorite CD's,

Ok, I'll start this off by saying that I love The Trews. I've seen them live 4 times and I never get sick of them. They have a sound that reminds you of 70's rock, but tweaked to fit a more modern audience. John-Angus gives the band both catchy guitar riffs, and some nice solos. Jack and Sean both do a more-than-adequate job on bass and drums. The best part of the band though, is Colin's voice. The man has an amazing voice and hits each note perfectly throughout HOIF.There is no filler in this album and although you couldn't possibly ask for better quality music, at about 40 minutes long, it leaves you wanting more (luckily their new album comes out August 16th). Although every track is amazing, I'll try to pick some stand-outs. Every Inambition: A spiffy opening track. I love the guitar riff and this is a song that's hard not to tap your foot to. Tired of Waiting: I originally wasn't going to put this song, but it was just playing as I typed this and I have to mention the great bass to it. Fleeting Trust: The simple (but still amazing) guitar riff will be stuck in your head for days to come. You're So Sober: An acoustic song with beautiful lyrics and vocals. Stray: When you listen to the CD for the first time, Hollis and Morris sounds like the sort of song that you would expect to end the album. You think to yourself "What song could possibly top that for an ending?"...then you hear this song and you understand. You just have to take my word on this one. It's VERY good. I highly recommend House of Ill Fame and it is among my top 5 most cherished CD's.

The Trews Rock,

Nominated for Best Group and Best Rock Song for 2009's Juno awards. The Trews deliver an amazingly unique sound which cannot be duplicated. They rock every live performance.I found out about this band early 2008. I just wish I had discovered them earlier.

My son introduced me to the band and I liked them so I bought this cd as well and they are great. I let my other kids hear them and now there hooked too. It was a great buy. Go on u-tube and listen to them before you buy.

Not a bad album...,

This album has a lot of good songs to listen too and nothing that stands out after four listens as something I would skip because it's a bad song.I would say the hit song of the album comes at song number 10 'You're So Sober'. If you enjoy music from bands like DMB, you should enjoy The Trews. 1 of 4 people found the following review helpful
