This book shows recent graduates how to find hidden work opportunities, how to sell themselves effectively to employers, how to network, and how to create effective marketing tools beyond the tradition resume or CV.The workplace is going through one of the most significant transitions to occur in the past 100 years. Plenty of work is available today, but not necessarily a lot of jobs. Stable jobs do still exist, but they are getting harder to find and the route to getting one is different from what it used to be. For many people, this route involves a detour through unfamiliar territory. This book will raise your awareness of what is going on and where the workplace is headed. It will help you to define exactly what you have to offer your employers and give you insight into the type of work you should be looking for. You'll learn how to find the hidden work opportunities and create a resume suited to today's work world.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you are just out of school... Aug. 17 2011
By Terry Pile - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This book is aimed at the younger job seeker or students still in school. It does a decent job of helping them identify strengths and how to market themselves. It has a good section on using social media. It doesn't go into any area too deeply, but is a broad brush stroke to the job search process. It comes with a CD which is nice if sitting down and reading a book is not your thing.
