This book is an authority on lichen anatomy and lichen identification. It is easy to read and understand. Also recomended is: The Lichen Handbook, by Mason E. Hale.

The best there is ... March 25 2011
By Cliff - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Spiral-bound
Though the nomenclature is dated this is still the best book available for identifying the more obvious lichens that one is likely to come across in the United States. It is easy to use and amply illustrated.
Lichen ID Source April 2 2013

Format: Spiral-bound Verified Purchase
It is helpful, but not my main source of id help. There are other more current books that I use as well.
