Product Description

Kings kids live in the natural world, yet they enjoy heavenly rule. Its more fun that way. Unlikely things happen when you follow God! Best-selling author, Harold Hill, said his life was a big, fat, miserable success until he learned how to live as a child of the King. Not long after this book was published, it was declared by some to be the How to book of the century!

Ingram

Harold Hill is an engineer, not a theologian, but the gospel he describes in down-to-earth, common-sense, every-day language gets to the essence of what living the Christian life is all about.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good book, in general, Dec 4 2001

I think this book brings out that God wants to be more involved in our life, if we let him. And it shows how much we're missing by not reading the Bible or seeking God. However, one could read this book and think we can be rich, or we can get whatever we want. In his later book, "God is in Charge Here", the author points out that God is in charge, and that needs to be kept in mind. He can answer prayer amazingly, or choose not to.

2.0 out of 5 stars Important message - unattractively written, Oct 11 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: How to Live Like a Kings Kid (Paperback)
The book contains very important information that needs to get across to other christians in the world. How many believers haven't fallen into a dull routine, forgetting about what the Holy Ghost can do/is doing?! Though, I cannot recall ever having read a christian book that contains so many "I", "me" and "mine". Compared with other christian authors (Charles Swindoll, Kay Arthur, Oswald Chambers, Elisabeth Elliot, just to mention a few) his language and way of explaining situations/things are, according to my personal opinion, rather simple and even somewhat poor. I get the impression, that he thinks he knows everything better and needs to get this across to the rest of the world.

FYI: On page 85, Mr. Hill states that a student had told him, High German is a rare language. Germany has 70 Mio. people and the language is also spoken in Austria and Switzerland (as an official language. In various parts with various dialects). To say it's a rare language it's ridiculous. It's important to find out true facts before printing and not just quote everything that is being heard. And if the author still wants to print it, there should be a footnote/explanation to it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Book for Present and Future Christians, July 27 2002
This review is from: How to Live Like a Kings Kid (Paperback)
This is one of the books that influenced my decision to become a Christian. For people experiencing a crisis in their lives that don't have time for lengthy theology this book provides answers based on the author's years of successful Christian living. Hill's style of writing is more that of an easily referenced technical manual than a theological dissertation. Although some people may object I find it highly appropriate for a book about practical Christianity.
